PMC Recognizes Graduates & Scholarship Recipients

Rock Hill, SC – June 28, 2016 – Piedmont Medical Center is proud to recognize its employees who have earned a degree while fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of their jobs. The Graduation Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, beginning at 2pm. The 2016 Nurse Betty Scholarship and Robert D. White Scholarship Recipients will also be awarded.
The Nurse Betty Scholarship Program recognizes the many years of dedicated service to Piedmont Medical Center by Betty Jenkins, RN. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited school of nursing in South Carolina pursing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Since 2011, one applicant per year has been chosen to receive a $5,000 scholarship that can be renewed for up to $20,000 towards the recipient’s collegiate experience. Nurse Betty is scheduled to be present.
The Robert D. White Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to graduating seniors in York County who have been accepted into an accredited paramedic school in SC. Since 2011, one applicant per year has been chosen to receive a $3,000 scholarship that can be renewed for up to $6,000 towards paramedic training. Robert D. White is scheduled to be present.
Both scholarship programs support Piedmont’s commitment to support and retain highly skilled healthcare providers in York County. In return for the scholarship, recipients commit to work for Piedmont Medical Center in their respective field for 24 months upon completion of their education.
Please join us as we present these prestigious awards to our two recipients and all PMC employees who have earned a degree over the last year.
