Piedmont Medical Center to Break Ground on County's First Off-Campus Emergency Department
Jan 30, 2019Rock Hill, SC - January 30, 2019 – Piedmont Medical Center is hosting an official groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of construction of the state’s ninth stand-alone emergency department.
“This emergency department represents a big step forward in our commitment to serving the people of Fort Mill,” said Mark Nosacka, chief executive officer of Piedmont Medical Center. “We currently provide 9-1-1 EMS services in Fort Mill and we are very excited to build York County’s first stand-alone emergency department. This facility is a $15.2 million investment in the health of Fort Mill and York County residents and visitors. Our entire staff is committed to providing high quality care as we expand our services throughout the county.”
The new facility will be called Gold Hill Emergency Department and features the following:
- 17,340 square feet
- 24-hour physician coverage
- 12 treatment areas and one trauma room
- Helipad and ambulance dispatch station
- Imaging and lab services (to include CT, X-ray and Ultrasound)
Piedmont Medical Center currently offers a multitude of services in the Fort Mill area. These include urgent care services through Piedmont Urgent Care at Baxter Village, outpatient imaging services at The Imaging Center at Baxter Village, and family medicine care at Piedmont Family Practice at Baxter Village and Piedmont Family Practice at Tega Cay.
