Piedmont Medical Center – Rock Hill and Piedmont Medical Center – Fort Mill are taking the time to honor its physicians on National Doctors’ Day for their compassion and skills they provide to their patients daily.
In conjunction with Piedmont Medical Center’s parent company, Tenet Healthcare, the national theme for 2024 is Wings and Stethoscopes: Healers of Hope. The stethoscopes reflect the idea doctors are always ready to provide care through their unwavering commitment to their patients, which in return creates hope for those facing the unthinkable.
“On behalf of all our Governing Board members, and all of our employees, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our physicians,” said Teresa Urquhart, Market CEO over both Piedmont – Rock Hill and Piedmont – Fort Mill. “On this National Doctors’ Day, we take the time to thank and honor each of our physicians for their dedication to patients, making our mission statement ring true, healthcare is better together”.
Celebrated on March 30th each year, Doctors’ Day was officially established in 1991 when President George Bush issued a proclamation in observance of the day. March 30th also marks the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery by Dr. Crawford W. Long in 1842. National Doctors’ Day is commonly celebrated in healthcare organizations, as a day to recognize the contributions of doctors to individual lives and communities.
