Piedmont Medical Center EMS District Chief, Nikki McLear honored with Tenet Hero Award

Jun 19, 2024

ROCK HILL, S.C. ― Piedmont Medical Center is proud to announce EMS District Chief, Nikki McLear has been honored by our parent company, Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual employee recognition program. Nikki has been named a Tenet Hero for her outstanding contributions in 2023.

The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their communities and go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Nominated by leadership and fellow colleagues, Heroes exemplify Tenet’s core values and commitment to its mission.

Nikki was recognized as a Tenet Hero for many reasons. In addition to overseeing 35 staff members who provide emergency care to our community, Nikki also finds time to support those who may be hungry through Tenet’s Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive. Nikki helps struggling families have a healthy breakfast during the summer months and beyond.

In 2023, under Nikki’s leadership, the Piedmont EMS team collected nearly 25,000 servings of cereal from the community. In less than two weeks, Nikki and her team gathered more than 2,500 boxes of cereal to donate to Pilgrims’ Inn in Rock Hill. Nikki also rallied other public safety agencies in the area to help collect donations for the program.

“We are grateful to Nikki and her dedication to delivering high-quality care, fostering innovation, promoting collaborations, and making a meaningful impact on our community,” says Teresa Urquhart, Market CEO of Piedmont Medical Center. Nikki is someone who continues to surpass expectations, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to go above and beyond for those we serve.”
